Lotes NIE Today: Check Your TIE Lote Number

Lotes NIE are the numbers each police station publishes when a new shipment of TIE cards arrives. Compare the TIE lote number on your receipt with the latest one published by your police station: if your number is equal to or lower, your TIE is ready for collection. If it is higher, it has not arrived yet.

Lotes NIE: receipt and TIE card with the TIE lote number

Portal Extranjería’s Lotes NIE Finder is a free tool, with no sign-up, that tells you whether your TIE is ready: it shows the latest TIE lote published by every police station in Spain, with its date and the office’s address and phone number. It covers 198 offices across all 50 provinces, plus Ceuta and Melilla. All you have to do is compare that number with the TIE lote on your receipt.

What the TIE lote number is

When you attend your fingerprinting appointment, the police station gives you a receipt. It shows a number in the format Year/Number (for example, 2026/045): that 045 is the lote (batch) number on your receipt, in other words your TIE lote. Cards are produced and delivered to the police station in lotes, and each police station publishes the latest lote of cards it has received.

What you compare is that TIE lote number, not your NIE or your case file number: your NIE does not appear on any list. If the latest published lote is equal to or higher than the one on your receipt, your card is already waiting for you. These published numbers are what everyone calls the lotes NIE.

Where to find your TIE lote number (real example)

The TIE lote number you need to compare is not your NIE or your case file number. It is printed on the receipt the Police give you on the day of your fingerprinting appointment, on the line that says «Lote». This image shows a real receipt with that detail highlighted:

TIE fingerprinting receipt showing the lote number 2022/363
Sample receipt: it says Lote: 2022/363. The number you need to compare is 363.

How to read your receipt, line by line

  • Lote: 2022/363 — This is what you are looking for. The first number is the year and the one after the slash is your lote number (here, 363). This is the one you compare with the latest number in your police station’s lotes NIE.
  • Nº: 122 — It appears right next to it, but it is not the lote. Many people mix them up: do not use it to check your TIE lote.
  • Issue date and validity — These are details of your card. They do not tell you when it will be ready for collection.
  • Fingerprint and reason for issue — These confirm that your fingerprints were taken and the type of application, for example a first issue.
  • The text at the bottom — The receipt itself states that you must collect the card in person, with your passport and that same receipt. Keep it safe until collection day.

Practical example: is my TIE ready?

With the receipt in the image (TIE lote 363), this is how to read what your police station publishes:

  • Latest published lote: 370. Your 363 is lower, so your TIE is already at the police station. Book a collection appointment.
  • Latest published lote: 363. It is the same number: your card is ready too.
  • Latest published lote: 350. Your 363 is higher, so it has not arrived yet. Check your TIE lote again in a few days or turn on the email alert and we will write to you when it comes out.

Common mistakes when checking lotes NIE

  • Looking for your NIE or your name on the list. Police stations publish lote numbers, never personal data.
  • Checking the wrong police station. Only the lote of the office where you had your fingerprints taken is relevant to you.
  • Using the «Nº» instead of the lote. The correct number is the one next to the word «Lote», after the slash.
  • Confusing the receipt with form EX-17. The EX-17 is the application you fill in before your appointment; the lote only appears on the fingerprinting receipt.
  • Losing the receipt. If this happens, report the loss to the police and bring the police report on collection day together with your passport.

How to check lotes NIE step by step

  1. Find the TIE lote on your receipt. It is the number after the year (in 2026/045, the lote is 045).
  2. Choose your province and police station in the lotes NIE finder above. It must be the police station where you had your fingerprints taken.
  3. Compare the two numbers. If yours is equal to or lower than the latest published TIE lote, your card is ready. If it is higher, it has not arrived yet.
  4. Book a collection appointment on the official appointment website (cita previa) under the procedure «Recogida de Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero (TIE)» (TIE card collection).

How long the TIE takes after fingerprinting

There is no fixed timeframe: it depends on each police station and the time of year. As a rough guide, the card takes a few weeks to arrive after fingerprinting, and police stations do not publish new lotes every day. That is why the most reliable approach is to check your police station’s lotes NIE before booking an appointment. If you are still gathering paperwork, review the TIE documents required at each stage of the process.

ProvinceEstimated average timeUpdate frequency

Barcelona30 – 50 working daysFrequent (weekly)
Valencia25 – 45 working daysRegular
Alicante25 – 45 working daysRegular
Rest of Spain20 – 40 working daysVaries by police station

⚠️ These timeframes are rough estimates. That is why it is essential to check the TIE lote of your office before booking a collection appointment.

🪪 What to bring to collect your TIE

When you see from the TIE lote that your card has arrived, bring these original documents on collection day:

  • Valid original passport: the same one you used to apply for the TIE. If it has expired and you have a new one, bring both.
  • Fingerprinting receipt: the stamped paper you were given on the day your fingerprints were taken, showing your lote number. It is not form EX-17, which is the application you fill in beforehand.
  • Previous TIE (for renewals): you will have to hand in the expired card on collection day.
  • Collection appointment: most police stations require one. Book it on the official appointment website (cita previa) under the procedure «Recogida de Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero (TIE)». Book your appointment here.

Your TIE lote is out: how to book the collection appointment

If your lote has come out, the card is already at the police station, but at most offices you cannot just turn up: you need an appointment. These are the usual steps:

  1. Go to the official appointment website (cita previa) and choose the province where you had your fingerprints taken.
  2. Select the procedure «POLICÍA – RECOGIDA DE TARJETA DE IDENTIDAD DE EXTRANJERO (TIE)» (TIE card collection). Do not choose the fingerprinting one: it is a different procedure.
  3. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your documents: NIE, full name and nationality.
  4. Choose the office where you had your fingerprints taken and an available date.
  5. Keep the appointment confirmation and bring it on collection day along with your passport and the receipt.

If you see no available appointments, it does not mean your card has disappeared: they are simply fully booked. Try again at another time of day or over the following days.

Why your police station’s lotes NIE may seem stuck

It is very common to check several days in a row and always see the same number. There is almost always a simple explanation:

  • Police stations do not publish every day. They update when they receive a new shipment of cards.
  • Sometimes the lote jumps ahead. If several shipments arrive together, the published number can jump several positions at once.
  • Public holidays and holiday periods. It is normal for things to move more slowly at those times.
  • Each office works at its own pace. If another police station in your province moves faster, it does not mean there is a problem with your card.

What the date of each TIE lote means

When you choose your police station in the finder you will see the latest lote and, next to it, a date: the day that lote was recorded. It is useful for two things. First, to know whether the information is recent: if the date is only a few days old, the number is up to date. Second, to estimate your office’s pace: if the lote moves forward by, say, about ten numbers between one update and the next, you can get a rough idea of when yours will arrive. If the date is old, the police station has most likely not published any new lotes since then.

Does a TIE renewal also have a TIE lote number?

Yes. When you renew your card you go through fingerprinting again and receive a new receipt with its own lote number. The process is the same as the first time: compare that number with your police station’s lotes NIE and, once it comes out, book a collection appointment. Remember to bring your previous TIE, because you will have to hand it in when you collect the new one.

NIE lotes, TIE lotes and immigration lotes: are they the same?

Yes, they are three ways of referring to the same thing. Technically the TIE lote relates to the TIE, the physical card, but many people search for «lotes NIE» because the NIE is the number they know best. You will also see «lote de extranjería» or «lote de tarjetas». In every case it is the shipment number your police station publishes and that you compare with the one on your receipt.

What the Lotes NIE Finder includes

  • A single finder for every province: choose your province and police station and see the latest published lote, the date, the address and the phone number.
  • The most recently updated provinces in the carousel above, so you can see at a glance where the lotes NIE have moved.
  • A free email alert: if your lote has not come out yet, leave us your number and we will write to you when your police station publishes it.
  • Guides for the rest of the process: the TIE documents for each stage and the immigration forms with their fees.

❓ Frequently asked questions about lotes NIE and TIE lotes

🔹 What are lotes NIE?

It is the number of the latest lote of TIE cards each police station has received. If the lote on your receipt is equal to or lower than the published one, your card is ready for collection.

🔹 Where is my TIE lote number?

On the receipt you are given at your fingerprinting appointment, in the format Year/Number (for example, 2026/045). Your lote is the number after the year.

🔹 Do I have to look for my NIE in the lotes NIE lists?

No. Your NIE does not appear on any list. What you compare is the lote number on your receipt with the latest lote published by your police station.

🔹 How long does it take for my TIE lote to come out?

It depends on the police station and the time of year. As a rough guide, the card arrives a few weeks after fingerprinting.

🔹 Are lotes NIE updated every day?

No. Each police station publishes a new lote when it receives cards, so the pace varies from one office to another.

🔹 Can I collect my TIE at a different police station?

No. The card is sent to the police station where you had your fingerprints taken, and only that office’s lote applies to you.

🔹 Do I need an appointment to collect my TIE?

At most police stations, yes. Book it on the official appointment website (cita previa) under the procedure «Recogida de Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero (TIE)» (TIE card collection).

🔹 Which number do I look at if my receipt shows «Lote» and «Nº»?

The one next to the word «Lote», after the slash: in 2022/363, your lote is 363. The «Nº» is a different detail on the receipt and is not used to check lotes NIE.

🔹 What should I do if my TIE lote is taking much longer than usual?

First check that you are looking at the right police station and the right number on your receipt. If everything is correct and many weeks go by with no news, ask at your police station or turn on the email alert so you don’t have to check the lotes NIE every day.

🔹 Does Portal Extranjería publish the lotes NIE?

No. They are published by each National Police station. We gather them by province so you can find yours quickly and, if you like, we will notify you by email.
